GymDog Sports

Competing with your dog can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be intimidating to get started.  At GymDog, we aim to provide a gateway into the world of dog sports that is accessible to the average pet owner. Our sports classes are intended to provide enrichment and fun for you and your pet while getting your "foot in the door" to the world of dog sports.

Intro to Sports

This exciting class covers the essential skills you and your dog need to get started in any dog sport.

Prerequisites:

  • Dog should be at least 5 months old

  • Engagement with Toys

  • Target Training

  • Rear end Awareness

  • Stretches and Conditioning

  • Marker Training and Reward Strategies

Agility

Everyone's favorite, we run Agility two times a week.

Prerequisites:

  • Dog should be at least 5 months old

  • Recommended to have completed Intro to Sports

Dog Contest
Agility Class

Agility class is for anyone who needs to learn or practice the skills they need to run an agility course. Every 4 weeks we alternate between introducing the agility obstacles and teaching handling skills and flat-work.

Agility Practice

Agility practice is for those who have completed  2 months of Agility Class (1 month of Obstacles and 1 month of Handling) and are ready to start running simple agility courses with their dog.

Tennis Balls

Flyball

Flyball is a fast paced relay race. We run Flyball 2 times a week

Prerequisites:

  • Dog should be at least 5 months old

  • All dogs must be friendly or able to ignore other dogs

  • Recommended to have completed Intro to Sports

Flyball Class

Flyball class is for anyone who needs to learn or practice the skills they need to run Flyball. You'll learn to get your dog supercharged about retrieving a ball and playing tug, and teach him to take jumps and make that super cool flyball wall turn.

Rally Obedience

Rally is a fun introduction to competitive obedience. You'll navigate a course of rally signs with your dog in heel position.

Prerequisites:

  • Dog should be at least 5 months old

  • Dogs should have completed Obedience 1, or have similar skills

  • Recommended to have completed Intro to Sports

Dog Walk
Rally Class

Learn and practice the rally signs. You will also learn to keep your dog motivated, focused and engaged in the rally ring without treats.
